ClearPlay Classic: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Silly Hilarious Fun

Just talking about it makes me smile. Watching a trailer for it makes me laugh and actually watching this movie sends me into fits of hysterics I am not likely to recover from until the next day.

Two con-men (Steve Martin and Michael Cain) realize that the town they are in just isn't big enough for both of them to work in. So they devise a monumental con to decide who will stay and who will go. They're target is the lovely and sweet Miss Janet Colgate (Glenne Headly)...may the best con-artist win!

I recently found out I missed out on the performance of this movie's musical when it came to a theater in my town and I'm deeply and darkly depressed about it and so must review the movie in order to deal with my sad feelings of missed-outedness. My favorite scenes are a toss up between watching Caine whip Martin's legs and the entire episode with Rupricht. I mean really, anytime my kids ask politely, "May I go to the bathroom please?" I have to refrain from chuckling to myself.

Motherly Advice: ClearPlay does help to filter out some crude humor, language and a near sensual scene but the idea of two grown men lieing to people may not suit your little ones (and they probably wouldn't like it anyway). I'd say you should be able to watch this filtered flick with your teen aged kids and enjoy some quotable quotes like- "Wow! All I can say is...WOW!"
