Based on the
true story of Jay Moriarty, Chasing
Mavericks finds the young Jay in difficult circumstances. His Mom is a
drunk. His Dad left long ago. He is poor. But surfing gives him a purpose. A
neighbor, Frosty, trains Jay to ride dangerous mavericks, giant waves of
immense power. Along the way they bond, Frosty becoming the father figure Jay
needs to overcome his fears.
