Mighty warrior Thor lives in the otherworldly realm of Asgard. He is cocky, self–centered, and war–mongering, and after disobeying his father and High King, Odin, he finds himself stripped of his powers and his mighty hammer and banished to earth. There he must learn humility and find the strength to stop the plans of his scheming brother, Loki, and the vengeful Frost Giants.

ClearPlay In Action!

Thor has a few minor swear words and some religious exclamations for ClearPlay to handle. There are several battles in the movie, mostly consisting of people flying through the air. ClearPlay deals with a couple of intense violent spots, but Thor would be appropriate for teens and up.

Should I Hammer Out Some Time For Thor?…

Thor is another solid entry from Marvel’s movie studio. The film manages to take one of the more obscure and weird superheroes and make him watchable. Directed by the venerable Shakespearian actor Kenneth Branagh, Thor deals with themes of love, humility, pride, and wisdom without feeling overbearing or ponderous. For the most part, Thor is just good fun, and while it doesn’t reach the level of superhero movie greats like The Dark Knight or Spiderman 2, it’s definitely worth a spin.
