ClearPlay In Action! The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a very family friendly film. ClearPlay trims out a few religious exclamations and a couple of mild obscenities. The violence in the film is bloodless and primarily consists of people and objects being tossed around by magic. There is no sexuality or nudity. This film is appropriate for most, though a couple of scenes might be a bit intense and scary for the very young.
Should I Become this Sorcerer’s Apprentice?…The virtues of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice are its family friendliness and fun magical effects. Nicolas Cage, who plays Balthazar, and Jay Baruchel (who voiced Hiccup in How to Train Your Dragon) provide some funny moments, too. While I ultimately wished the film had a bit more meat on its bones and took fewer trips to the cheese trough, it is an entertaining movie to watch with the family.
