Whether you haven't gotten around to watching Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel yet or you've already had it long enough that your kids are quoting lines from it and singing along with each and every song... you can make this viewing of the Singing Siblings a fun adventure for the whole family. Here are a few ideas to help you enjoy your next Family Movie Night!
With Dave away the Chipmunks play, or at least try! One of the speed-bumps they run into is the lack of food in the house. (I guess grown-ups are good for something!) The only thing they find is Cheese Balls. Pick up a bag or two for your family and enjoy nibbling on these cheesy little snacks through-out the movie. For a Must-Pause-Moment pair up and toss these treats back and forth to each other, catching them in your mouth. See which team can get the furthest apart and still catch the cheese ball!
Later on in the show Simon is pranked and assigned to be the Litter Monitor. Don't let the bully's get the best of the brainy brother! For another Must-Pause-Moment set a timer for a couple of minutes and send everyone off in a different direction to pick up as much garbage/clutter as they can. To make the event even more special (and keep kids from grumbling about cleaning up during movie night) have a special treat or prize for whoever ends up being the best Litter Monitor. (You can thank me later for encouraging your family to clean up for fun!)
Depending on the size of your family, and the ages or gender of your children you could always consider hosting your own Chipmunks vs. Chipettes singing contest. Other Movie Night Ideas include wearing over-sized solid colored t-shirts or hoodies to match the chipmunks or take turns recording each other singing your favorite songs then playing them back on fast-forward to hear your own family chipmunk concert.
Remember to use your ClearPlay to cut out some rude humor. Whatever activities you decide to do, make sure to enjoy Movie Night with your family!
