When
the nerdy, Pride & Prejudice
obsessed Jane Hayes finds out about an Austen based theme park in England, she
gives up her life savings to get there. But will she get over her obsession of
perfect romance or simply find one of her own?
The
PG-13 rating certainly earns it’s presence by the many innuendos, shirtless
men, kissing and suggestiveness. There aren’t any sex scenes, just the innuendo
and some cleavage here and there. I’m depressed to say that this one isn’t for
the young ladies in your family.
Does Austen Land 2
Thumbs Up?...
Those
who have read the book by Shannon Hale will either love this or hate it. The
book is thoughtful, witty and romantic while the movie is funny, silly and marginally
sigh-worthy. If you can go to the movies leaving your serious face at home
you’ll really enjoy the laughs served up by Jennifer Coolidge. If you’re a
die-hard Austen fan in all seriousness, I suggest waiting for the rental.
Oh
and ladies, leave the poor men at home for this one, it’s not for them and
you’ll have a great time with your girlfriends.
Rated PG-13 for some suggestive content and innuendo; 97 min Directed by Jerusha Hess
