Alex Cross is a detective created by writer James Patterson and played in several movie adaptations by Morgan Freeman. Those Freeman movies were potboilers at best, but at least they had Morgan Freeman. In Alex Cross, Tyler Perry takes the eponymous reins to chase a brutal, torture-loving serial killer (Matthew Fox) who has targeted rich, influential victims. When Cross and his team interferes with the killer’s plans, the killer makes it personal.
